9 ways to stop animal abuse in its tracks.

What are we doing?

Warning.   I normally try to do uplifting and informative posts, but this post IS NOT…

However, it is truth and something that a lot of people would like to stick their head in the sand about.

I want to challenge you today to think through the term, Animal Abuse.

What is it really?

Is there anything “we” (the collective people that truly care about animal rights) can do to change it?

Do you think animals even have feelings?

Are they here just for our entertainment?

Do we have a responsibility to humanely care for the ones that cannot take care of themselves?

What does it say about someone who is okay with “abusing” and “neglecting” an animal’s needs?

No, this isn’t going to be a “feel good” post but it is going to show you some realities that animals are dealing with every single day.   It goes way beyond our dogs and cats.   Although they are a huge recipient of mistreatment, it spans to larger wild animals like tigers, elephants, monkeys, and more.

However take heart, after showing some videos in this post, I will delve into some ways that you can help!

WARNING:  Some of these videos are very graphic in nature and are extremely hard to watch.   I only share to make you aware of the massive problem we have in the world with animal abuse.

If you makes you sick, then decide to be a part of the solution.

No one person alone can make a significant impact.   But, if we all find a cause to believe in and a way to support it, then we can make a difference!

Here’s are some videos to raise your awareness of the vast cruelty out there to our animals on this planet.

They are a harsh reality.   But truth.   Truth is good.  It is the beginning of understanding.   Understanding is the first step toward change.

In this case, it has to be for the better.

Listen to Ralph’s story…

One of the worse cases reported of animal abuse and neglect.   A medium sized brown dog named, Teddy.

The power of Love, look at this dog’s horrific condition and how she transforms after being rescued.

Maria needs our help!

Look at Pinkie’s story….  someone thought this was going to be fun and cute no doubt.   I know it wasn't very fun for this kitty.

I’m sorry, there is a very hard heart and evil in a person that would do this:

This makes me sick every time I think about it.   Really, in the name of science?  Come on people, let’s call it what it is…animal cruelty at its worse!

Who does this to a helpless animal….so wicked beyond words.

What about larger animals?

"One of the world's largest populations of tigers exists not in the wild—but in captivity in the United States. With an estimated 5,000 tigers, the U.S. captive tiger population exceeds the approximately 3,200 tigers in the wild. “  source:  https://www.worldwildlife.org/stories/more-tigers-in-american-backyards-than-in-the-wild

Have you heard about the largest tiger rescue in US history?

Watch this…

Raju is just one of the many elephants that have been robbed of their life.

I could go on and on showing you these types of videos.    But I think you get the picture.

A simple search on YouTube will surely have many results that you can comb through yourself.

Let’s turn our focus on how to help the helpless.

How can you be part of the solution?

1 - Give your funds to rescues that you believe in.   There are numerous ones.

Do your research and see what speaks to your heart.

It takes a massive amount of $$$ to coordinate a rescue (sometimes air travel is required).     The medical expenses could also be a huge amount of money, especially if surgery is needed.    Then, after the animal is well, the journey to find them a forever home begins.

Rescues we believe in:

2 - Volunteer your time and talents at rescues in your area.   They need people with the right heart toward animals to give of their time to help their mission.

3 - Research for any petitions in your city to end the permanent chaining of an animal.   This is a prison for them and zero quality of life.

If enough people yell, laws will be passed, laws will be enforced, and people breaking animal abuse laws will be prosecuted!

4 - Watch your surroundings for neglect and abuse of an animal.  Report any offenses that you sense to the authorities.   It can be done anonymously.

5 - DO NOT support any circus.    It’s no life for any of the animals performing.

If you disagree, I invite you to comment below on one good thing that a circus animal experiences.

6 - Don’t participate in betting on animal fights, greyhound racing, or any other event sport involving animals where they are neglected and mistreated.

7 - Do you see something in your local community?

 Start your own petition.

https://www.thepetitionsite.com/animal-rights/ or https://www.change.org

8 - Partner with the Human Society of the United States.

9 - Be a “watch dog” in your neighborhood and community.

If you see something suspicious, report to your local Humane Society Chapter or law enforcement agency so that an investigation can be initiated.

It’s our vision and hope that one day, animal neglect and abuse will be a thing of the past.   All living creatures deserve to be treated humanely with love, care, and respect.

Just because we are dominant over all animals doesn’t give us the right to intentionally harm, neglect, or withhold fulfilling their basic needs.

Thank you for hanging through a very emotional and tough topic.    And all animals around the world that are treated "less than" thank you too.
